I love writing. It engages the creative part of the brain. I've always heard a picture is worth a thousand words, but I believe a thousand words can paint a picture.

For twenty-five years I was a public speaker. I would write in detail what I wanted to say and then do my best to paint a picture of what I wrote in my audience's mind. I used illustrations, visuals, humor, and personal experiences to help them grasp the concept. The reward for me was when saw a head nod an affirmative. This said "I see it, I understand." I knew if one saw it, others did.

All of my writing over the years has been non-fiction. It has been fairly easy to write things that are factual. In September, 2009, Barbor Publishing published a devotional book, The Great Adventure, which is a combined effort of fifteen authors. I was one of them. This was a truly humbling experience and an awesome blessing. I look forward to future writing projects for this fine Chrisitan Publishing company.

In 2007 I started writing Christian fiction. It has been a trip and a hoot. The creative part of my brain seems to have grown by leaps and bounds. Now I'm some 75,000 words into three novels. The first one will be published in the spring of 2011 by Bound by Faith Publishers. You can read the first chapter here.

This web site will take you on a journey into my mind--the writer part of me--as a childhood fantasy evolves into a full blown reality.
